Layton Systems has several state-of-the-art handling and distribution production lines. These systems combine tried and true Layton equipment to tackle specific automated production tasks for the food handling and processing industry.
Layton Systems automated potato line feeds and grades potatoes quickly and efficiently. The Layton Systems Hex Tube Feeder removes water and fine materials efficiently and spreads product out while feeding the full length of the Layton Systems roll size grader. The Hex Tube Feeder assists in maintaining constant product flow and prevents surges. It has an inline gear drive and tilt adjustments on the stand for various widths of 24″, 39″, 49″, 59″, 76″ and 90″.
The Hex Tube Feeder then feeds into the Layton Systems Roll Grader which places the correct sized potato in the right place on the production line. The Roll Grader is vital to the production lines efficiency. Gap and diverter adjustments and opening and closing gates work in combination to choose the correct product sizing for downstream packaging. Our grader runs uninterrupted hour after hour and operates up to 84,000lbs. of potatoes per hour.
The Roll Grader feeds into the Layton Systems Sorting Conveyor which maximizes flexibility and makes it easy to fine tune the grading process. Its opening and closing gates work together to help you make the best possible choices about what size potato goes where. Our Sorting Conveyor is easy to use, has gap and diverter adjustments and is maintenance friendly. The Layton Systems automated potato line feeds and grades potatoes quickly and efficiently.
The hopper feeder regulates product flow and reduces line surges for reliable processing and packing operation. The ribbon-wall incline belt transports product upward for further processing. This incline belt has a replaceable UHMW wear strips that provides excellent belt-wear performance, lowering maintenance costs and production down time. The incline belt control offers an optional variable speed control capable of up to 120 linear feet per minute.
The Uni-Vibe Scale feeder features a single moving part construction that ensures sanitary operation with exceptionally low maintenance and superior vibration isolation. The Uni-Vibe discharge has a circular discharge section that’s sized for optimal feeding to the scale head.
The scale platform has an OSHA-compliant platform that provides a safe working environment for employees with easy access to the equipment. The pack-off table is an incline belt and rotary table for removing the finished product.
The Layton Systems turnkey distribution system handles a multitude of products from the processing room to the packaging machine.
This line starts with a Uni-Vibe conveyor with a bias cut to spread the product across the Layton Systems ribbon wall incline elevator belt. The Layton Systems ribbon wall incline conveyor delivers product to the Layton Systems rapid return storage. The rapid return storage conveyor and storage platform regulates product flow and reduces line surges for reliable processing and packing operation.
The distribution platform and rapid return distribution conveyor with gates, feeds into multiple seasoning systems. The Layton Systems on scale seasoning system consists of the Layton Systems seasoning platform. This Layton Systems Seasoning System is can feed either salt or seasoning.
By having the seasoning system directly in front of the scales, production becomes flexible to do multiple seasoned products simultaneously or different styles of product. The Layton Systems Uni-Vibe scale feeder features a one moving part construction ensures sanitary operation with exceptionally low maintenance and superior vibration isolation.
